Elaine Thompson-Herah
100m Olympic Record Holder
Regal beauty, Elaine Thompson-Herah is the Jamaican sprint queen, whose explosive rise from Banana Ground, Manchester Parish, to global glory has inspired millions. Born on 28 June 1992, she blossomed from a promising high-school runner into one of the greatest sprinters of all time. Today she is a multiple Olympic champion, the “fastest woman alive over 100 m” with a blistering 10.54secs, and the first woman to defend both the 100 m and 200 m titles at consecutive Olympics (Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020) – feats that etched her name alongside legends of the sport.
Her path has not been without challenges. Injuries tested her resilience, yet she returned stronger, setting Olympic and national records and becoming a five-time Olympic gold medallist. Beyond the track, Thompson-Herah embodies “heart and purpose”. She launched “The FastElaine Foundation” to uplift vulnerable children and families in underserved Jamaican communities, using her platform to provide school supplies, food, toiletries and support during difficult times. Through collaborations with partners like NCB and Flow, her foundation distributed hundreds of care packages and continues to create opportunities for youth education and nutrition.
Elaine also lends her voice and presence to charitable galas and community initiatives aimed at empowering Caribbean families, advancing connectivity and nurturing young talent.
Her story is one of speed, service and spirit reminding the world that true greatness flourishes not just in record books, but in the lives we touch
